Finance Manger

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day to day operation of the accounts department, managing a team of six alongside supporting the Finance Director in reporting financial statistics both internally to the Board of Directors and to the wider group.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supervision of company bookkeeping.
  • Management of the accounts team.

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for internal review by the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team.

  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns.

  • Reporting of daily, weekly and monthly performance to the Group Reporting Team.

  • Assisting with preparation of annual budgets and forecasting as required by the Group Controlling Team.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA to prove technical ability.
  • Experience of working within a busy accounts department would be advantageous but would also suit a move from practice.

  • Experience of team management.

  • Willingness and ability to be hands on within the accounts department.

  • Experience of preparing management accounts and supporting schedules, including reconciling control accounts and bank reconciliations.

  • Understanding of International Reporting Standards alongside UK GAAP.

SALARY, HOURS & BENEFITS 

  • £50,000-£55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • 37.5 hours per week (9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday).
  • Full-time, Permanent, In person. Location: Embleton, Cockermouth, CA13 9YA.

People and Culture Advisor

The People & Culture Advisor will provide first-line HR support across the business, ensuring consistent and high-quality people processes. Based at Head Office, the role will support continued growth and ensure a consistent employee experience across all sites. 

Working closely with the Head of People & Culture, this role will coordinate day-to-day HR operations, support ER issues, manage recruitment and onboarding, maintain HR systems and help drive digitalisation of key processes including online inductions and employee lifecycle workflows. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide first-line support to managers and employees on HR policies and processes.
  • Support managers with employee relations issues including absence, disciplinaries, grievances, and performance matters.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes and ensure a consistent candidate experience.

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding activities, including contracts, checks, induction coordination, and exit interviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within HR systems and support digitalisation projects such as online inductions.

  • Ensure consistent HR practices and cultural alignment across all sites, including supporting new hub openings.

  • Produce HR reports and support annual people processes such as appraisals and mid-year reviews.

  • Actively review, update, and improve current HR processes and practices to enhance efficiency and employee experience.

  • Support ad hoc global HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS 

  • CIPD qualified (Level 3 or above) or other relevant HR qualification.

  • Experience in a People & Culture Advisor role.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and experience supporting ER cases.

  • Strong IT literacy, including confidence with HR systems, digital tools, and online platforms.
  • Experience managing recruitment and onboarding processes.

  • Highly organised, detail-focused, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.

  • Professional, discreet, able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

  • Positive, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Occasional travel to other sites may be required.

SALARY, HOURS & BENEFITS 

  • £35,000-£40,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • 40 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with flexibility to support other shifts when required.
  • Full-time,  In person. Location: Embleton, Cockermouth, CA13 9YA.

This entails receiving and inspecting incoming stock to ensure its quality and accuracy. Additionally, the position involves maintaining the organization’s inventory by replenishing racking and shelves with stock, thereby ensuring that the night picking team has access to well-stocked and easily accessible items.

Furthermore, a critical aspect of this role is stock rotation and quality checks, which involve monitoring expiration dates, ensuring that products are handled and stored properly to maintain their freshness and quality. Effective communication skills are also a vital component of this role, as it is essential for coordinating with team members and relaying information about stock levels and any quality concerns.
