Caterite scooped two prestigious awards last night

Posted | 10th November 2017

Caterite emerged as the big winner at in-Cumbria Business Awards last night scooping two prestigious awards at the glittering event where hundreds of business leaders from across the county gathered to celebrate Cumbria’s business prowess.

Our Managing Director Richard Fletcher won the headline Businessperson of the Year award while the company lifted the most coveted Best Customer Service Excellence award.

Judges highlighted the key role Richard had played in turning around the fortunes of the business, which had been under pressure from stagnant sales growth, increased costs and waning profit margins. Meanwhile, it was commended for the tailored and dedicated service provided to customers, regardless of their size or sector.

Richard said: “I’m really proud. There are 150 plus people who work as hard as I do and really it isn’t just about one person taking the limelight.”

He added that winning the award was the icing on the cake as his focus had been on winning the Customer Service Award.

“I’m just really keen for people to see that we’re doing a good job as a company,” he said.

“The industry we work is a no news is good news sort of industry – you only ever hear something if a customer has a problem. We work hard for our customers to ensure they are happy.

“The other businesses in both the categories are really good businesses, so the fact that the judges have come to see us and been so impressed, really is fantastic recognition.”

Caterite handed over the cheques!

Posted | 1st November 2017

On the 28th of September, we hosted our Annual Charity Golf Day and managed to raise a total sum of £3980 for two charities: MacMillan Cancer Support and West House.

This is our 15th Golf Day and the most successful one we had so far in terms of the amount of money raised and the number of customers involved. We have donated over £30,000 by holding this event.

We chose MacMillan because our beloved and long-serving colleagues Paul Winder was diagnosed of cancer earlier this year and MacMillan provided a lot of care and support to Paul and his family during his last days and we really appreciate that. As for West House, we have a long-lasting relationship with them dating back to 2004 and are always impressed by the positive impact they had on the disadvantaged and local community.

Last Thursday (26th October), a cheque presentation was arranged and MacMillan and West House each received a cheque for £1,990.

John Wilkinson, representative from MacMillan said: “We are really grateful for Caterite’s kind donation and all the money we received allows us to provide more practical, medical and financial support for people diagnosed with cancer which could be me or you. I have been fund-raising for MacMillan for over thirty years and I truly feel Cumbrians are the kindest and most generous bunch of people in the world.”

A big thank you again to everyone who came along on the day and donated. The money raised has and will continue to be a big help.

May Updates

Posted | 2nd June 2017

It’s early June, summer has officially started and here at Caterite, things are heating up.

After our Big Expo in February, we experienced our busiest week to date in early April and the most successful Easter on record.

Even though sales figures were at unprecedented levels, our service quality was not affected. In fact, we have just disclosed some exciting figures which showcase our dedication to customer service and operational excellence.

Our year to date supply rate is at 99.64%, meaning that we only missed 3 items for next day delivery per 1,000 items ordered until the midnight before and this is better than our record last year of 99.21%.

We are equally pleased with our service delivery accuracy rate at 99.7% compared to 99.5% last year.

Everything looks very positive in general and we’ll continue to work even harder to beat our own record so that you, our customers, can enjoy the best products at the best prices with the best service.

Performance up
