Our Butchery

Our specialist butchery division offers an exceptional range of fresh, high quality meat, poultry and game in a choice of cuts to satisfy all of our customers’ requirements. We can provide full traceability and demand the highest standards of hygiene and safety. We are proud to announce that during our 2017 audit, our Butchery Team were awarded a BRC ‘Grade A’ for the production of meat products.


FULL TRACEABILITY

We have invested in a leading edge electronic food traceability system for our butchery department to minimise food safety risks and improve operational efficiency in the same time.

This advanced system is able to collect data from source to dispatch, often sloganed as “from farm to fork” and process sales orders from dispatch to invoice. It combines scale, printer and label generation in one unit and integrates seamlessly with our warehouse management system (WMS).

ACCREDITATIONS

Our butchery is awarded BRC Grade A in the 2017 audit recognising our dedication to food safety and customer service.

BRC Global Standards is a leading safety and quality certification programme, used by over 20,000 businesses in 90 countries. The Standards are a worldwide guarantee of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end user. Our certification at Caterite covers the butchery of meat and the production of meat products as well as the slicing and packaging of continental meats and cheese.

We are also a member of the Quality Standard Mark Scheme for Beef & Lamb. The Quality Standard Mark Scheme is developed by the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) and is the only scheme in the UK to cover eating quality. It provides one of the highest level of quality assurance of beef and lamb and is equivalent to the Red Tractor Scheme in terms of food safety, animal welfare and environmental impact while encompassing additional requirements for eating quality.


PREPARED TO YOUR SPECIFICATION

Our Butchers are keen to provide the very best customer service. If you require your meat to be prepared or packed in a certain way, simply advise us of this when placing your order. They will prepare your meats exactly as required. (Don't forget to use 'Note' function when placing orders online!) Whether vacuum-packed or not vacuum-packed, skin on, skin off, bone-in, boneless, rolled, tied, trimmed or flattened, we are always happy to help.
