Harrogate Blue is a rich, buttery and luxuriously creamy blue cheese with a bold flavour profile and a delicate peppery finish.

Handcrafted on a family farm in North Yorkshire using locally sourced cow’s milk, it is matured for a minimum of 10 weeks to develop its distinctive golden body, smooth texture and beautifully balanced blue character. Full flavoured without being overpowering, it delivers exceptional depth while retaining a wonderfully creamy and approachable finish.

Perfect for cheeseboards, melted into sauces or simply enjoyed with fresh bread and a glass of red wine, Harrogate Blue was launched in 2012 as the first cheese created by sisters Katie and Caroline Bell after taking over the family business. It quickly established itself as one of the UK’s most celebrated artisan blue cheeses.

An internationally acclaimed award winner, Harrogate Blue was named the 11th best cheese in the world after receiving a Super Gold award at the World Cheese Awards in 2017. Since then, it has continued to gain recognition, collecting numerous accolades including further World Cheese Awards medals, Champion Home International at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards, and Gold medals at both the British & Irish Cheese Awards and the Great Yorkshire Show.

About Producer	Shepherds Purse began in the late 1980’s when Judy Bell discovered her passion and talent for cheese making. Having started by making cheese only from sheep milk, they extended their range to include cow's milk and even water buffalo milk cheeses. Today, they are best known for their blue cheeses Yorkshire Blue and Harrogate Blue, and for their sheep milk Mediterranean salad-style cheese, Yorkshire Fettle as well as their sheep milk blue Mrs Bell's Blue. As Shepherds Purse has grown, they remain a proud, independent family business, making cheese in the traditional way on their farm in North Yorkshire. The Shepherds Purse team is now a team of 35 passionate artisans being led by Judy’s two daughters Katie and Caroline.
