About Producer	The Stewart family have farmed at Falside since the 1930s, with the dairy always very much at the centre of the operation. The farm is now run by Robert Stewart – assisted by his wife Jane. They have 3 sons, two of whom (Ben and Adam) have now joined the business. The farm is not far from the coast, and the salty air, warm coastal breezes, and heavy clay soil combine to produce lush pastures on which the cows can thrive. During the colder Scottish winters, the cows shelter inside from the chilly winds. Although the family have been farming here for nearly 70 years, cheesemaking began around 10 years ago. Having always loved eating cheese, Jane decided the time had come to learn how to make it.
